Moonlighting proteins

Moonlighting proteins are proteins that have secondary ("hidden") functions in addition to their primary functions. Many glycolytic proteins have moonlighting activities.
A special class of moonlighting proteins are trigger enzymes that control gene expression in addition to their enzymatic function.
