Rod complex

The Rod complex is a complex of membrane proteins that move circumferentially. The complex is required for polymerizing and cross-linking peptidoglycan. The complex acts antagonistically to PBP1 in the control of cell diameter: Higher expression of the complex results in a reduction of cell width.
