RNases are involved in the processing and degradation of the different classes of mRNAs, tRNAs, rRNAs and small RNAs

Exoribonucleases

Endoribonucleases

  • RNase J1: ssRNA endonuclease, does also have exonuclease activity
  • RNase J2: ssRNA endonuclease, may also have exonuclease activity
  • [[rnhB|RNase HII]: cleaves RNA in RNA-DNA hybrids
  • [[rnhC|RNase HIII]: cleaves RNA in RNA-DNA hybrids
  • [[yurI|RNase Bsn]: extracellular RNase
  • [[rnc|RNase III]: dsRNA endonuclease
  • [[mrnC|mini-III]: dsRNA endonuclease
  • [[rnmC|RNase RNase M5]: dsRNA endonuclease
