A large family of transcription factors. DNA-binding occurs via a winged helix-turn-helix motif and is mostly controlled by low molecular weight effectors. The family has four subfamilies, that differ in their effector-binding domains.

Members of the HutC subfamily in B. subtilis

Members of the YtrA subfamily in B. subtilis

Members of the FadR subfamily in B. subtilis

Members of the GntR subfamily in B. subtilis

Additional GntR family regulator

Transcription factors with a DNA-binding domain of the GntR family, but different effector-binding domain
